A number on a page is not an answer. Results appointments are where your GP puts the test in the context of your history, tells you what it means for you, and agrees what happens next.
Three ways to book: HotDoc · online · or by phone.

Every test we order comes back to the doctor who ordered it and is reviewed before it reaches you.
When your GP orders a blood test, scan, swab or screening test, the result returns electronically to our practice and is reviewed by the doctor who requested it. That review happens whether or not you have booked a follow-up, and it is how abnormal results are caught.
If a result needs action, our reception or nursing staff will contact you and ask you to book an appointment. If a result is urgent, you will be called. If everything is normal and your doctor asked you to book a follow-up anyway, that appointment still matters, because normal results often change what is recommended next.
No news is not always good news. If you have had a test and heard nothing within the timeframe your doctor gave you, please call us rather than assume.
Reception staff are not able to interpret results or tell you what a number means, and privacy law limits what can be released by phone. It is not obstruction; it is that a result out of context can frighten or falsely reassure. Your doctor will go through it with you.
Many results are well suited to a phone appointment, which is bulk billed for eligible patients who have seen us face to face in the previous twelve months. You can discuss the result, agree a plan and have a script sent to your phone without coming in.
You are entitled to a copy of your results. Ask at your appointment and we can print them or send them securely. Results also appear in My Health Record where you and the practice have that enabled.

The questions we hear most about results.
Most routine blood tests come back within one to three working days. Some specialised tests and biopsies take one to two weeks. Your doctor will tell you what to expect when the test is ordered.
No. Reception can tell you that a result has arrived and whether the doctor wants to see you, but interpreting the result is the doctor's job and needs an appointment.
Not always, but your doctor may still want to discuss what the result means for your ongoing care. If a follow-up was recommended, please keep it.
Yes, for eligible patients who have had a face-to-face appointment with us in the previous twelve months. Phone results appointments are bulk billed.
Bring the report or ask that provider to send it to us. We can review results ordered elsewhere, though the ordering doctor remains responsible for acting on them.
