Many men only see a doctor when something is wrong. A regular check-up finds problems while they are still simple to treat.
Men in Australia visit the GP less often than women and tend to present later. At Toongabbie Doctors we make it straightforward: book a men's health check, tell us what is on your mind, and your GP will cover the essentials in one appointment. Dr Mustafa Hafiz, our Medical Director, focuses on men's health, skin checks and minor procedures.
Blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, weight and waist measurement, family history and lifestyle. Men aged 45 to 49 with a risk factor are eligible for a bulk billed health assessment, and heart health checks are available from 45. Our ECG is on site.
Advice on prostate checks and PSA testing based on your age and family history, help with urinary symptoms, erectile difficulties, low libido and testosterone questions, and confidential testing for sexually transmitted infections.
A low mood, short fuse or trouble sleeping is worth mentioning. Mental health is part of every men's health check at our practice.
Skin cancer checks with dermoscopy, snoring and sleep apnoea assessment, weight and fitness goals with our on-site dietitian and physiotherapists, hair loss, gut symptoms and vaccinations. Nothing is too minor to raise.
