Weight is shaped by health, hormones, medicines, sleep, stress and habits. We look at all of them.
Your GP checks for medical contributors such as thyroid problems, polycystic ovary syndrome, sleep apnoea, medicines that cause weight gain and insulin resistance, measures blood pressure, waist and blood tests, and talks with you about what has and has not worked before. Dr Mohammed Hossain focuses on weight management alongside chronic and complex conditions.
Ms Anagha Chaudhari, Accredited Practising Dietitian, consults from the clinic. She translates the science into realistic meal plans for your culture, budget and schedule, and supports weight, diabetes, cholesterol, PCOS and gut health. With a GP management plan, eligible patients receive Medicare rebates for dietitian visits.
Losing five to ten percent of body weight can improve blood pressure, blood sugar, sleep and joint pain. You do not have to reach an ideal weight to feel the benefit.
Our physiotherapists help you move safely with joint pain or after injury, and build strength and fitness gradually. Your GP addresses sleep, snoring and sleep apnoea, stress and mood, all of which affect appetite and energy.
Where lifestyle change alone is not enough, your GP can discuss medications for weight management and, for some patients, referral for bariatric surgery assessment. Any option is discussed openly, including benefits, side effects and costs, so you can decide what is right for you.
GP appointments are bulk billed for Medicare card holders. Dietitian and physiotherapy visits are billed privately, with Medicare rebates under a care plan.

Common questions about weight and lifestyle care.
No. A five to ten percent reduction improves blood pressure, blood sugar, sleep and joint pain for most people. Your GP will set goals that are realistic and measurable.
Yes. Ms Anagha Chaudhari can be booked directly. A GP management plan gives eligible patients Medicare rebates, so many people see their GP first.
Your GP can discuss medications for weight management where appropriate, including how they work, side effects and cost. They are one option alongside nutrition, activity and sleep, not a replacement for them.
Sometimes. Thyroid problems, PCOS, sleep apnoea, some medicines and insulin resistance can all contribute. Your GP checks for these as part of the review.
With a chronic condition management plan, eligible patients receive Medicare rebates for up to five allied health visits per year, which can include the dietitian. Without a plan, visits are private.
